CA Immigration Law vs. AZ Law

This might be of interest to those who see hypocrisy in CA boycotts of AZ, because of Penal Code provision 834B.

That was found unconstitutional and cannot be enforced. It was part of Prop 187, which got tossed out years ago.

  • I don't have a link yet, but......I just watched a piece on the news, about Prince William County in VA, who passed a similar law in their county in 2007, and it has worked beautifully for them.

  • What court made the ruling?

  • Carpy, it was a US District Court judge in 1997. Appeals were dropped in 1999, killing the law. 834b may be on the books, but it's about as enforceable as Hackberry, Arizona's prohibition on married women eating onions while drinking buttermilk on the Sabbath. Yes, that';s a real law! http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/archives/parsons/publications/onions/onionlaws.html
