  • processed foods are things that are not fresh. they are in cans, frozen, boxes. like cans of chef boy r dee, frozen chicken nuggets, microwave dinners, etc.

  • Anything that they have added stuff to in some factory.

  • anything that has gone through a 'process' before it hits your shopping trolley is, in theory processed - even white rice has had all the good stuff removed and basically left as a lump of white starch. In diet terms, anything that has extra additives like salt, sugar, palm oil, a bunch of numbers and letters that aren't food... = processed.

  • Any food that is not in it's natural state....anything in a box, can, package, etc.

  • If you take the literal meaning, then even whole grain flour is processed

    I think that for your purposes, any ingredient that can't be purchased in a grocery store should not be purchased.

  • Anything packaged is processed. Processed food isnt bad, its OVER processed food that is.
