Is it wrong to use someone's wife that isn't protected?

If they don't lock it, is it safe to assume they don't mind others using it? Or is it still wrong because you're not paying for it? This does not include libraries, wifi "hotspots", or other places that advertise free wifi. I mean businesses or residents that do not lock their wifi access.

  • It is theft, just like having cable TV and not paying for it.

  • lol...I had to open the question b/c I was afraid it WASN'T a typo...Anyway, I would say yes, it is wrong. It doesn't belong to you. They might not have locked it b/c they don't know how or something like that, and it's not right to use their lack of knowledge against them like that (tempting though it may be at times).

  • I don't think it is a big deal, if someone has theirs unlocked then they shouldn't care. I have mine locked but if my internet is out and I need to do something I will try to find someone to piggy back off of for awhile.
