why do doctors say wait 2 weeks to have sex after a miscarriage?

Has anyone not waited the 2 weeks and what was the outcome?

  • my cousin was told to wait ntil she gets a period before trying to concieve again, so that she'd know how far along she'd be in a pregnancy...if she were to get pregnant
    waiting 2 weeks after a miscarriage is like waiting 6 weeks after childbirth....u're body changes and needs time to heal before having sex....and as AngelLnChainZ said....u are at a higher risk of infection

  • idk but i didnt wait 2 weeks.... i had a mc, no cramps nothing just like a period, and it lasted 1 week.... i had sex withing the time frame and then never got a period...... im 4 months pregnant now lol

  • I was told it's becasue the cervix is not completely closed yet which leaves you open to infection that could get into your bloodstream. We waited.
