Which birth control to use?

I'm looking for a birth control with minimal bloating/weight gain, and no major hormonal spikes. (if such a think exists). I'm 25 years old, and have a 1 year old daughter. No insurance.

  • Natural Family Planning and condoms. After I had my girl, hormonal BC makes me ill. So no pills for me.

  • I have a mirena as well, but I am pretty sure you'd need insurance to get it. AND I have had pretty significant weight gain with it.

  • What about a diaphragm? They work without hormones and have no side effects. They never caused a stroke, infertility or PID; you won't gain weight, get depressed, or lose your libido; your periods won't be affected. They have never been the subject of class action lawsuits and are instantly reversible.
