We are going camping and need ideas for snacks and sides to bring!

Last year we were starving, hot dogs got old! Some ideas that would help, if someone if they are hungry can grab and eat and ideas of sides for everyone to eat with main meals, thanks!!

  • When I was younger my family went camping at the beach for a week every summer.

Breakfasts: cereal/milk, bacon/pancakes, bagles/cream cheese, fruit, juice, milk
Lunches: sandwhiches, fruit, yogurt, water, soda
Dinners: belly busters (fritos with chili and cheese on top), hotdogs/hamburgers, steaks, kabobs, foil dinners (veggies with ground beef or chunks of chicken/beef in foil over the coals/fire), sloppy joes, chili, stew/bread and butter, grilled chicken/beef/fish with veggies, spagetti...the list goes on!
Desserts: banana boats( hollowed out banana filled with choco chips and marshmellows, wrap in foil and place over fire til melted), smores, dutch oven cobblers/brownies/cakes/crumbles...

Snacks: Trail mix, oatmeal cookies, anything prepackaged (rice krispies, granola bars, fruit leather...)...

    Happy Camping!!!!

  • The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have web sites you can go to for ideas.

I'm not sure what you like and what kind of camping you are doing. We take Rice Krispies treats (in the box), cereal bars, canned food, chips and salsa, fruit leather, trail mix, a variety of stuff. You could go to the Dollar Store and get a lot of stuff for not much money.

  • Here is what we normally eat.

Friday night- Usually grab something from a drive through on the way to the camp site. S'mores for a late night snack after we finish setting up.

Saturday- Breakfast- eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits (if we bring our homemade dutch oven) Lunch- sandwiches, chips, and cookies Dinner- Hot dogs and hamburgers and Bullseyes for dessert (donut with a chocolate kiss in the middle, wrapped up and heated over the fire)

Sunday- Breakfast- We normally do something like cereal, breakfast bars or poptarts for the 2nd day, Lunch- same as Saturday's lunch, Dinner- we grab dinner on the way home or fix something once we get home.

We try to keep it as simple as possible but if you want more detailed recipes this is a good site-
