Does tech need to come in apartment to install central air?

I have dogs, so need to know if I have to have someone home. Everything is being installed in basement (as far as I know). I rent lower half of duplex, so anybody know if he needs to get in or not? And what he has to do?

  • I'd say yes, they often have to check the vents and the balance of the system. My dad is an HVAC tech.

  • Yes, quite often they replace all the duct work.

  • Yes, even if the duct work is not replaced they need to come in and make sure everything is working properly. We had our CHA worked on recently and all of the duct work replaced - it took them a week and they were in and out of the house the whole time.
