It is almost Memorial Day. Will you pause for a moment to remember its significance?

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

  • I will. I want to thank your husband as well, and your whole family. To all of the brave men and women that serve our country and their families for their sacrifices, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • I would like to thank my husband for his service and sacrifice. He loves his country, but that isn't the only reason he serves. He does it so that maybe, just maybe our children won't have too.

  • I always do.

My father is a veteran, as is my brother-in-law.

Thank you to every single veteran. You have given so much to us, and I appreciate you more than you can ever know. May God bless you and keep you. May He bless us all.

And thanks for posting this! I think I'll give my DH a big kiss when he gets home this evening, to show my thanks to him.
