So, of course we're all great moms, but no one is perfect. So as a mom, what is one thing you'd like to be better at? What are faults?

I wish I had more patience while teaching them their letters, numbers and all that. I try to make it fun, but of course they lose interest and start acting up. It frustrates me so bad! I know they're only 3 and 4 and I should be more understanding...

  • i to wish i had more patience!!! shes 6, and she HATES reading!! shes never liked it, she has never sat still to listen to me read her stories, ever since she was little. her teachers has even said they have never seen a child who hates story time as much as she does. so getting her to learn to read has been a huge obstacle!! she knows her letters and the sounds perfectly fine, she knows her "sight words" (mom, dad, cat, dog, it, they, want, love, hat, etc...) but when it comes to unfamiliar words she hasnt a for example if she comes across a word like.."table" she will sound out each letter, and then say something like "boat"...and i give her a look like WHAAAAT!!! and ask her "does it starts with a "b" sound??" NO (her response)..then why do say that?? I DONT KNOW!! so yaaaa..frustrating!! happens over and over!! but.when it comes to teaching other kids, i have all the patience in the world! go figure!!!!

  • Yours is mine as well. I teach my son things and he does so good then, the next day its like he learned nothing. Kinda irritates me. I also wished I had more energy.

  • - I wish I more creative & could put fun activities together easier!
    - I wish I was more into "getting on her level" and playing tea party, dolls, pretend but Im clueless as how to make having fake tea fun- there should be a manual with it! lol :(
-I should clean BEFORE dd gets up in the morning so i can spend more time with her, but i relax & have me time anytime she is sleeping, so when she is away i spend more time cleaning the house than i should.

  • Numbers and letters are not what you should be working at 3 or 4. They need to learn to wonder and think... puzzles, coloring, hands on activities is the best thing to do for your children at 3 and 4.
