My dog MAY have been bitten by a spider...

My dog (rotty black lab mix a year and a half old)saw a spider and tried to eat it then flinched and spit it out. He didnt cry and is not acting any different, but it looked like a baby black widow(very poisenous spider-common in Colorado). It happened about 45 minutes ago. Do you think he will be okay, or should I take him in just in case? Would the venom have hurt him by now?

  • you might try to check the inside of his mouth for marks. i would take him in just in case though. especialy if he starts acting strange.

  • I do not see any marks... I guess that is a good sign-It was just the way he looked when he spit it out that scared me because he looked like he was flinching, and he is not a dog to spit anything out no matter how gross it is.
