  • Okay. At first glance, they look fine. BUT, there are a bunch of preservatives & whatnot, and gluten hides in such odd places (seasoning mixes, ketchup, pickles, toothpaste! [I have a "friend" with celiac]). So, really, your best bet would be to ask him if he can have them, or go find a "natural" hot dog that has minimal ingredients. Another option - if you go to SuperPickle's page, she has a link to her blog - she makes homemade hotdogs that would be fine for him. HTH and GL!

  • look for wheat as an an ingredient. It could be used as a filler. It is not in more expensive dogs. and obviosly it is in the buns!

  • chefjen - wheat does not have to be a listed ingredient for there to be gluten in a product. Gluten can be hidden in many many things, under many different names.

  • You can always buy a pack of gluten free hot dogs, there are several brands in the organic section of grocery stores.
