Is banana Bread junk food??

  • That depends. If you mean the commercial box you buy in the store where you add water and put in the oven, then yes, not a single banana in it.

    BUT if you make it from scratch with wheat flour, applesauce rater than sugar and real bananas then it's fine for you in moderation.

    This one does use splenda instead of applesauce but I have made it and it's pretty good:

    I do usualy add some walnuts to it as well.

  • I would consider it a junk food unless your substituting the butter/oil, sugar and white flour in it. Bananas are also fatty fruits...they have a high content of calories.
