Oil Spill De Ja Vu? You MUST see this!

Please let's not get into 'party' crap about who she is or her politics. These are plain and simple facts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHmhxpQEGPo&feature=player_embedded

You will be shocked (I was) to find that in 31 years the oil industry has done nothing to modify; change; update or improve their techniques when it comes to solving a disaster like what is happening in the Gulf right now.

An eerily similar incident took place in 1979 ... please watch the video then comment. TY

  • I posted about the IXTOC Oil Spill, that took 9 MONTHS to cap, to put some perspective on this spill. Once again, it seems if you weren't born at the time these disasters occurred, then it may seem like it's the end of the world!

  • The question though is why have they done nothing to update or improve their response to these types of disasters if they've obviously had previous experience and one would assume plenty of time to ponder the problem?????????

They've done nothing or they've not found anything that's any more efficient/cheaper/better? Medicine has been trying to prevent cancer for over 100 years, and they have exponentially more subjects on which to test their ideas.

  • oh god an international company violates safety protocols for so very not the first time and we always have to go back to fighting amongst ourselves. that's what they want. conquer and divide keep giving it to them. you're doing a fabulous job..

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am sure that BP has done plenty of research and development for the advancement of their profits but OBVIOUSLY, NONE, in safety or disaster preparation... And it appears by their lack of effort, that the gvt. looks upon this as maybe a "shiny" future "pot o'gold" for one of their spending sprees...

This is an interesting article "Obama biggest recipient of BP cash"... http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36783.html

  • Any of you who are flippant about regulations to our friggin environment deserve the oil spilled water to drink from.
Why should I be so crude? Because you are the very reason we are in this mess. Minds like yours who get into power and have no regard for the resources of your neighbor for the sake of your own greed.

  • Lets see? How many plane crashes have there been in the past 31 yrs. Wow, Lots. You think they would have updated the safety regulations huh. Think of all those close calls and all those PEOPLE who died. Maybe we should ban all air traffic??? Get it in perspective people. This argument is so stupid. This is not the end of the earth but Obama will change your life in ways you just cannot believe.
