is paying a 13 year old 400 a month to do office work too much?

she works about 5 hours a day on saturday and sunday

so like 10 an hour

even if she leaves early and her work is done i still give her the 400 at the end of every month

what do u think?

  • If that is the agreed upon amount for the work... then that is fine.

My 14 yr old got $10 an hour for doing work in her fathers office. If that is the going rate and the work is being done as expected then I see nothing wrong with it.

  • I don't think it's too much, as long as her work gets done.

She may be spoiled if ever she has to get another after school job. :)

  • Honestly, I think it is great that she is earning her money. Too many teens get everything handed to them on a platter. If you are okay with it and she is earning it, I think it is great! That's a good amount of change for a 13 year old!

    400 a MONTH, not a week.

  • i think as long as the job is being done, then the pay is fine. If nothing else you are teaching her good work ethic

  • I think that sounds like a reasonable amount to pay her.

  • The rate of pay should be based on the job done, not the age (or sex or race or nationality) of the person doing it. So if that's the going rate, it's not too much.
