  • Hmmm I see your point - peter picked a peck of peppers - Nope no mention of pickled, they were just picked, which is when they have the spices added but no vinegar yet? Or maybe I'm wrong

  • Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
    A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
    If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
    Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?[1]

  • OMG you are a legend - so we must assume that he was collecting a case load of pickled pepper jars - was Peter a Wharfie maybe? Think he was sitting on the dock of the bay and thought he'd get a five finger discount off the back of a truck?

  • The rhyme is Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.... A peck is a unit of measure to measure dry goods. It is equal to about 8 quarts which is 2 gallons.  I pickled pepper is a pepper that has been pickled. "Pickles" are really pickled cucumbers. I have no idea how or why the peppers where already pickled and why Peter Piper was the one picking them!
