  • It should be considered murder, in High School we had to do debates and mine was on abortion. I never knew that there was such a thing a partial birth abortion, very sad and sickening.

  • The sad thing is if a woman is just 4 or 5 weeks pregnant and she gets into a car accident and the baby dies the person at fault gets charged with murder...even if the mom was thinking about abortion anyway...why is abortion ok but you cause the pregnancy to not go to full term...by accident...and your deemed a murderer?

  • nope, if the mother says the pregnancy is endangering her state of mind they can do abortions up to 30 weeks (more in some states) . Disgusting I know but a sad fact that we live in a country that demands its rights to freedom of choice to the point where it allows a mother to kill a baby if it isn't convenient to her. in China they inject Saline into the skull of a full term baby as it comes out and as long as the baby is only halfway out it is okay.

  • And this is something OBAMA strongly supports!!! Lovely. (heavy on the sarcasm)

"Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called "too close to infanticide." Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life."

  • Murder implies that the fetus living within it's host is a legal person. It is not. YOU, as it's mother, can think of it in whatever way you see fit, but the law must be based on logic, not emotion. Logically, a fetus does nt meet the criteria for a legal person, and it cannot be 'murdered'. Personhood is conferred at birth.
Those who want to have a pointless, emotional argument over abortion simply confuse the issue. Your emotions dictate our own action, but can never be confused with legal principles.

NO, you are not charged with murder from a traffic accident.

Well then, if a fetus is "jump a lump of tissue" and otherwise just a "part of your body," then why is it's DNA different from YOURS?!

And for those who support abortion and argue AGAINST putting the child you didn't want up for adoption, saying you would likely have "become too attached and couldn't possibly give him/her away," which is it? A "lump of tissue" or a "baby?!"

AND, those of you who support abortion....did you know that CURRENTLY a fetus CAN survive outside the womb as young as 21 weeks gestation? In 10 years it may even be lower!

Just putting a little realism on the subject!

  • LoriKeet, I find it interesting that you 'quoted' me, then said absolutely nothing that refers to the concent of my response. I never once referred to a fetus as 'just a lump of tissue'. I never said anything about it being just another part of the parents body, and I never said anything about viability. I explained why abortion is not, and never can be considered homicide, because homicide requires the intentional ending of the life of a legal person. A fetus can not be considered a legal person. It cannot have rights. Period.
I hope to see a day where we can address the root causes of pregnancy termination outside of medical issues - lack of education, poverty, drug addiction, and young teens having unprotected sex. But supporting criminalizing a medical procedure by using a fallacious argument is ignorant at best, and cruel at worst.
