  • You know, working from home has benefits like no commute and saving gas money; however, you really can't watch your children and work at the same time. I recenty acquired my life and health insurance license in my resident state (Texas). I've used that licensing to work from home for a company called LiveOps. Technically, I'm a contractor, not an employee. Basically I take inbound calls for an insurance company. You can also sign up for liveops to take inbound calls for infomercials and things, but you have to pay a $50 background check fee. Insurance agents do not have to pay this fee. Also, with my license I can get contracted with insurance providers to sell insurance independently out of my home office and earn residual commission. I cannot work and watch my children at the same time, but I do have the flexibility to schedule my hours and take off when I need. GL

  • Do you have a former employer you could work for remotely? If you have a computer with high speed internet & Microsoft Office Pro & have at least intermediate MS Office skills, you should be able to find work as a virtual assistant (VA). For more information, go to www.ivaa.org, www.iavoa.com, www.vanetworking.com ..
Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home based business? I have a friend who makes children's hair accessories in her basement & sells them to boutiques around the Midwest. My husband runs a handyman business from our home. I work from home with two lines of business; I do freelance bookkeeping & business organization, in addition to coaching
