  • I could eat whole watermelons when I was preggo b/c I had a late August baby. Maybe that is why she has soooo much energy!

  • My kids didn't eat that young. But my kids LOVE watermelon (age 4&5).

  • Really weird that he would get hyper because watermelon has very low sugar content. I would be careful not to let him have too much though because of the high water content.

  • That's because watermelon contains a lot of B6, which is essential for the formation of dopamine and serotonin in the brain. Dopamine and serotonin are our "happy brain" chemicals. Watermelon also contains citrulline, which is a building block for nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.

  • My 5 year is fine after eating it though my 4 year old gets hyper - but that could be unrelated since she's kind of a spaz all the time anyway.
