If you babysit in your home..

Does it drive you batty when parents bring thier kids a lot earlier than they are supposed or expect them to? Like, they are supposed to show up at 9 a.m. but they arrive at 8 or 8:30 a.m.?

  • Wow. I would never do such thing. I would just ask did your hours change at work? I've noticed you have been bringing baby X earlier. Good Luck!

  • don't unlock your door until you are "open for business" unless they have made prior arrangements

  • Write up a contract and make the parents sign it. You have set hours, and they have to abide by your hours of operation.

I'm trying not to be annoyed by it..trying to be the nice, laid back babysitter about it but some days....I REALLY need that extra hour or 1/2 hour before my day gets started, lol.

  • just send a notice home "my front door will not be unlocked before XXX.... please do not ring the bell/knock should you arrive early"
