Hallmark card pulled from shelves because NAACP thinks it is racist. Your thoughts?

Hallmark released a graduation card with sound three years ago. This year the NAACP deemed it racist.

The card talks about how the graduate is going to rule the universe and says watch out "black holes" and the black community is saying it sounds like "black whores" and gives black women a bad name.

Do you think they are overreacting after listening to the clip?

  • That's sooooo stupid! People pay sooo much attention to things that they can turn into something bad! I think that's sad and pathetic if your entire life is run over looking for things to be pissed at. I think ppl need a serious life!

  • F-ing stupid. Anything to get people riled up over something that doesn't even remotely have anything to do with what you're "fighting" for.

  • After watching the video and listening to what the card said, I have to say "over-reaction x 10". It actually makes the NAACP look ignorant when a card referencing the solar system cannot use the term "black hole" without them screaming racism.

What's next, change the term "black hole" to a more PC version, like "dark-colored, light-absorbing hole" ? Sheesh!

  • If you spend your life looking for something to fuss about, you'll find it. Meanwhile, life passes you by. They played the soundbite in the clip. I distinctly heard "holes." The woman insisted she heard the r. No way.
