Does anyone know if the state medicaid will pay for SO to get fixed??

  • sure would like to know - i'm considering the essure procedure for myself after this baby and haven't called yet to find out if it's something they'd cover. the cost of sterilization is certainly cheaper than a pregnancy, childbirth, and child - would make sense, but that's not necessarily how things are decided.

  • no because its not a necessity. its "plastic surgery" just like it isnt covered with a newborn.

    Now that confuses me. You would think that they would want the person who is trying to get fixed to get off welfare and stop having kids.
    Also how come I could have gotten fixed on state medicade for free but he can't?

  • I don't know. Medicaid paid for mine and my insurance through work covered his.
