Fever, teething?

My 18mth old has been running a fever between 100-102 for the last three days. She just got 4 mullers a couple of weeks ago and her gums are still red and swollen. Could this be a teething fever? She has no cought or anything like that. Just a fever. Would a teething fever last a few days?

  • YES! My daughter had the same thing! I used Motrin for her. It works great. But I would get the store brand since all of the Motrin recalls. It's normal. I asked a lot of moms and they all told me their kids had the same thing while teething. You can always call the nurse if you are still worried though.

  • No..a teething fever would not go up so high as 102.. teething fevers are usually low grade fevers..100-100.9...it looks like she has an infection somewhere..maybe ear, throat etc...
