How long after your toddler wakes up do you put them down for a nap?

My tot wakes up around 7:30am-8am, and she goes down for a nap at around 11am. Should I let her stay up until noon?

  • 3 hours after she gets up is the earliest i put her down for a nap. if its early like that she generally takes 2 naps still sometimes. i have been trying to wait till noon so that she will get all the naps at once. however, my DDs sleep schedule during the day varies based primarily on when she acts tired. she goes to bed at 8pm and gets up anywhere from 6:30 to 9am. she is 23 months by the way.

  • son is 4, wakes up around 7:30-8, naps from 1-2:30. If your kid sleeps through the night, I wouldn't worry about it.

  • My son is 17 months old - he wakes up between 8/8:30, and naptime kind of depends on what we're doing. He'll stay up until 12:30 if we're outside playing, or at a friend's house playing - if we're home and inside, he's asking for lunch and a nap by 11.

  • When my DD actually napped back in the day, I'd put her down at about noon. She'd sleep for a good 2 hours. If she naps now a days (she is 3.5) she'll NEVER go to bed.
