car issues, babies coming SOON! help!!!!!!!!!

we currently have 3 kids (ages 7, 3, and 20mos) and at the end up July we'll be bringing home twin girls. My 7 y/o is in a backless booster, tiny, takes up hardly any room. My toddlers are both in these Eddie Bauer things from Target which are quite enormous...... Our church just put on a HUGE baby shower and we got adorable pink Graco car-seats for the twins. ... we just have no clue how we're going to get around town! We drive a Dodge neon. It's scientifically impossible... my husband just got a 2nd job to make sure we're never short diapers, rent, etc but a new vehicle is simply not going to happen. WTF happens when your family has more butts than your car has seats?

  • Seeing a bigger car is not in your budget, you'll have to do without. That means no family trips, someone will have to stay home with some/all the kiddos at all time. There is nothing else you can do until you can afford to get a larger car. Of course there is always public transportation if you are in an area that has one. Is that ideal with 5 kids under 7? No of course not, but it's making do with what you got!

  • There is no way of getting around it. You need a new car. It doesn't have to be NEW, but you still need something else.

  • I agree no other way around it besides getting a bigger car that's what we did, we are a family of 6.

  • Either buy a second car for hubby and one child to ride in when you all go out or buy a van or SUV. Sorry but there is no other option if you ALL want to go out together. If not someone will miss out with only one car.

  • see if you can get approved for a loan with little or no money down to get a second vehicle (van). If not, then you will have to sell your neon and use the money from selling it to get a van. good luck and congratulations.

  • We had a chevy HHR and only had our dd at the time....we thought even if we got preggo again we'd be able to have a second child in there right? WRONG....we ended up with twin boys! Luckily we had 2 cars...the other was a toyota camry, but we never could go ANYWHERE with each other and if we did we were stuck in two seperate cars!
Well we ended up buying a used chrysler mini van and found out we're pregnant AGAIN with #4....luckily it's only 1 this time so all our kids will fit.
But I know how you feel!
Shop around, and maybe trade in your neon for a van. Ours was 2900 for a 2001 with 115,000 miles on it. It's clean and runs decently.....

So your either stuck in seperate cars going place, or you all can't go somewhere together....OR you can try to find a van! Good luck! I hope everything works out! Congrats on the new babies!!!
