If you know your hubby has a gambling problem and that his dad told me to tell him if he does it again,

what should I say? He asked to get $400 from the mom. She gave him a $400 check. His excuse was parties and lawyer fees for our bankruptcy. What should I tell his dad?

  • Tell him the truth. If your husband has a gambling problem, you enable his problem by covering for him. That is codependent behavior and isn't good for either one of you.

  • There are programs for the family and friends of addicts, Al Anon is for families of alcoholics...there is a number for Gamblers Anonymous. Recovery starts with the first step. Tell the truth. Good luck!

  • The truth works. Never lie for an addict. That's just enabling them
