i had a c-section last thursday. and i just wanted to know is it common that when i cough, sneeze, or laugh my stomach hurts and tightens up. its really painful; i hate when i have to do any of those 3 things.

  • Yes. You need to get a pillow and hold it firmly on the incision for support when you sneeze or cough.

    There is a six week recovery following a c-section. You will be able to do almost everything you could before surgery at 4 weeks post partum. But you will not be able to lift anything or feel completely like yourself until 6 weeks PP.

  • Yes it is normal.

    Eventually it won't hurt, it just always feels wierd.

    It stinks but you can do it... :)

  • Yes its normal.. It hurts for a little bit. With my first I came out of the hospital w/ a cold & it was horrible to cough.. Hold a pillow (like hug it) when you have to do any of those things.. It helps a little.... It will get better...

  • It's normal. Try holding a pillow when you sneeze or cough it helps it to not hurt as much.

  • Normal,, but should subside in a week or two! It took me 2 weeks!
