What Type of Flower is This?

DH and I just bought our first house. I'm curious as to what flower this is growing in my front yard?

  • They also planted tulips but they seem to all have died. I'm planning on adding flowers, but I want to wait to coordinate colors and such. :)

  • Yeah, I do not care for that! I really want rose bushes. That's going to be my summer project I think, after I do more research. :)

  • That is a DAY lily. They bloom for a day and then the bloom dies. They also come in many different colors and styles. The Stella D'oro is the yellow one that blooms for more than a day but is shorter than traditional day lilies. I have yellow, maroon, orange, and a double orange. The orange is what my grandmother called "ditch liliies" because here in the south they are wild and grow all along the ditches in the country side.
