What things should we do in San Antonio with two toddlers and a teen?

We are vacationing in San Antonio this summer (2 adults, 2 toddlers, and 1 teen). So far our list of possible attractions/activities include: Sea World,The Alamo, Tower of America, River Boat ride, Market Square shopping, and at least one meal at Mi Tierra's (we once went there 3 times on a 3 day trip). This is our first time visiting San Antonio with toddlers. Do you have any suggestions for additional attractions we should consider?

Thanks!

  • Zoo. Train ride around Brackenridge Park (by zoo parking lot). Site of the last known armed train robbery in the USA (true). Riverwalk boat ride also stops at RivercenterMall. Great museum on Broadway.Has a huge tree house out back as an exhibit. Have lunch outdoors at Central Market (on Broadway).La Madeline (on Broadway) has great breakfast.
Tito's on South Alamo (not near The ALAMO) is a local favorite.Located in King Williams historic district.
You can get to Sea World/Fiesta Texas by bus from downtown. Express bus to Fiesta Texas/UTSA (college) @ loop1604 is near Market Square. Bus to Sea World is also downtown.
Info center for bus on Houston St.(downtown near Walgreens).Try deli/bakery at Gunther/Sheraton across street. Also Majestic Theatre is on same block.Have fun. Watch out for jalapenos in the food.

  • You mentioned everyhting I would have said. We took our kids to the Alamo when they were 3, 4, 5 and 7 and they were interested. Kids much younger than that aren't going to be interested in anything, they are just along for the ride. We had our 9 m/o with us too.

  • If you have a car spend a day at Schlitterbahn. It is the number 1 waterpark. They have a lot of areas for little ones, and tons of stuff for teenagers. It is safe enough to let the teen go off to the rides. I just made my son stay in the park I was at and check in once in awhile. There are two parks with a shuttle in between. You can bring in food and drinks, find a table under the trees and have a great day.

  • I agree with keksie, Schlitterbahn is the best waterpark EVER! They have the original park and then the shuttle that takes you down the street to the 2 other parks, Blastenhoff and Surfenburg. Tons of stuff to do for kids of ALL ages and like she said you can bring your own food and drink into the park. AND the best thing of all, we have NEVER had a problem with anyone touching our stuff. The zoo is really great too, those are basically the two places that we would go when the kids were younger. Have fun, San Antonio is our favorite city in Texas!

  • I have no idea about other attractions, but I might see you at SeaWorld, you never know. My just turned 4yrs old son loves the shows at SeaWorld.
