Do I have to peel sweet potatoes??

I usually bake them, but I want to make them in a pan like my grandma used to, but I can't remember if I have to peel them.

  • If the way you want to fix them is sliced in butter with brown sugar, then yes, you will need to peel them, which is not an easy chore. I prefer to use a peeler rather than a knife--it seems to work a little bit better for me.

  • if you want to make them like candied yams you could boil/bake and then peel and finish them in a pan with the rest of ingredients needed it depends on how you want them to end up

  • I juist scrub mine, slice them and lay them in layers in a casserole dish, putting honey, butter and pecans between each layer, then I bake them. I usually don't peel them. The skins are pretty high in fiber and are good for you :)
