  • Totally normal. Think of it this way - newborns find their fingers and toes and spend a while playing with them, right? Toddlers find their penis, especially around the time they're potty-training because it's suddenly more accessible and they play with it. As we all know, it feels good. They don't know there is ANYTHING wrong (or sexual) about it. This is the time you start addressing privacy and private parts is all. With my son, we ask, "Do you need to go potty?" and if he says no, we say, "Then you need to leave your penis alone," and he stops (until he forgets and does it again, LOL).

  • Yes! Just try to teach him that some things should be done in private, so he doesn't try to play with it in church or something!!

  • very much so, my son just started and he turned 8 last month. i had to talk to him bout it cuz he and his sister (ll month) sleep in the same bed cuz we have a crampped two bedroom apt. told him it was ok to do cuz he's just exploring his body but as long as he wash his hands and keep it to himself

  • Is he potty trained? That may be the first sign to show him how to use it. It may be normal as well but i agree with the other ladies let him know when and where to explore
