ditlation

When did you begin to dilate? Was it weeks before, or the day of labor?

  • I don't know exactly when but it is kinda early IMO. I seem to start practice labor way early. With my third child, I was in labor for 17 hours; timable, painful, couldn't sleep, walk or stand through REAL contractions and then everything just stopped. When I finally went into labor, I went from 2ish to 7 in just a few hours. It looked as though I was going to have the home birth I had wanted. Then again, labor stopped. I labored for over 24 hours with him before he finally came. So, if you are looking for dilation to be a clue as to how much longer you have....it's not.
