  • Kiwi's pediatrician always told me to give her benadryl. But that's just because she couldn't take any other cold meds.
It also helps to hold him/her up to the open freezer for a minute and let them breath the cold air. It always helped w/Kiwi, and I do it myself from time to time. Just make sure to keep him warm during and after.

  • Here are the things our pediatrician tells us to do and they all help: steam shower 1-2 times a day (let the hot water run for like 5 minutes before you take him in so the room is nice and steamy and then sit in the room for about 8-10 minutes), elevate the crib mattress with a pillow underneath, run a cold mist humidfier in his bedroom, give honey to help soothe his throat if the coughing is bad, and use saline spray in his nose if it's stuffy. Good luck, it's never fun having a sick kid, but just help him be comfy!
