at what age should I stop buying my son "cute" clothes?

I've started school clothes shopping a bit already and am curious... how long can you get away with Curious George, Spiderman, Mickey Mouse, etc before they turn cruel and would start calling him a baby and stuff?

  • I think you can get away with the t-shirts, but maybe not so much the whole outfits, lol. I know DS went to k this year, and I didn't see many of them, but I did see the kids wearing the t-shirts...but never a whole outfit. I think it'd be okay once or twice a week, but maybe not everyday.
DS is picky about what he wears, trucks and skulls, and that's about it, lol...but then again, I buy them, so I guess it's in what you like...

  • Kids are getting more mean earlier these days. I got away w/cartoon characters until I was about 10 (early 90's) but my sister stopped at age 4 (2005). I'd stop unless he really wants them.

  • WHAT? KINDERGÄRTNER CALL OTHER KIDS NAMES FOR WEARING CARTOON/SUPERHERO CLOTHS! ridicules, I thought more like 2nd and 3rd grade-ish. I don't believe they start that young.

  • I actually never bought my boys character clothing. I thought they looked cuter wearing plaid shorts and solid polos, or rugby style shirts with cargo pants/shorts, etc. with matching/coordinating baseball cap--just like Daddy! :o)
