  • I think the law varies by state. I believe in Ky it's 12 home alone and 14 or 15 for babysitting younger siblings, and 16 for non siblings. I could be wrong though.

  • I think it depends on the child! Thirty years ago, when I was 12 I started babysitting--but I was very mature and responsible for my age. However, I know some 16 year olds TODAY who are very immature and irresponsible.
