Are you a democrat or republican? Or neither?

Did your parent's political choices have anything to do with how you vote?
I am a democrat most of the time, but my father is a die-hard republican. My mom doesn't vote.

  • I don't know exactly what party you'd call me I don't claim any. I'm registered as a conservative and I vote for who I feel will uphold the constitution the best, make of that what you will. My family were all line-voting Democrats until Obama, so no, they don't influence my voting at all. In fact I've heard my dad say to and about me on several occasions 'how in the world did we end up with a conservative in this family?' LOL

My family has nothing to do with how I vote. I don't even know that my parents vote? Well prior to Bush2

  • I'm a libertarian but I don't think it much matters. The spokes on a wheel all point in different directions but together they hold the wheel in balance. :)

  • My parents were Republican ,until Nixon....I am independent. I will vote for the best candidate. Just can't vote for anyone who is radical-right,though. I am pro-chouce and I think Government needs to stay out of our personal lives. Also, I don't want Politics and religion to mix at all. They need to stay seperate, always.

  • I'm a democrat, my husband used to be republican but changed parties after G.W. Bush was elected the first time so he is a very moderate democrat and my parents were democrat leaning independents - my influences come from all over but mostly my experiences with life and my strong feelings that religion and politics should not mix and that I do not want the government ever telling me what I can cannot do to or with my body.

  • LOL maybe my parents did influence me!

My mom is a Democrat and my step father is a Republican - I consider myself to be an Independent w/ some "l"ibertarian leanings - it really depends on the issue as to where I may end up.

  • Democrat when I was 18. Voted Republican in my first Presidential election in 1988. Secretly became a registered Republican soon after (couldn't tell my super Democratic family! LOL), after the 2008 election registered as an Independent. If the Republican party goes back to its true conservative roots, and boots out the RINOs I'd consider returning to the Republican party--but I'll NEVER go Democrat!!! LOL :o)
