Can someone tell me in layman's terms what vaccination cocooning is?

  • My understanding is say for example measles. They do not get that vaccine until they are 12 months so before or right after they are born doctors "cocoon" the baby by making sure all people (adults and older children) that are around the child daily are up to date on their vaccinations. This in theory reduces the chance the unvaccinated child will be exposed before they are old enough to be vaccinated themselves.
