Xbox Live Kinect!!!!

OMG, is anyone else watching this? This is amazing technology! It's also very creepy to think how this is going to be used by the government. I think it's an incredible advancement.....your thoughts?

  • It's not similar to the Wii at all. There's no controller. It's the cusp of real VR gaming. It's based on technology developed by two Israeli firms who were working on guidance systems for ballistic missiles. The sensor bar emits radar -like waves and receives them back, and is able to build an accurate picture of what's in front of it. It does facial recognition, reacts to very small hand gestures, and has a voice command system. What Nintendo tried to do with the Wii - change the dynamic of controller and keyboard gaming, the paradigm the gaming industry has been stuck in since Pong, Microsoft has succeeded in doing. Everyone knows a developer can make anything look great in a demo, so the real test will be when it's actually released next year, but just with the development of the device, gaming has taken a HUGE step into the 21 century.
