How do I discipline my 4 year old son with out so much yelling and spanking?

My son is VERY active and loves to run everywhere and get into everything. Now normally I wouldn't care because he doesn't cause any harm but now that we have to live with other people, i'm not sure how okay they are with that. I love him and cant stand to yell at him and I would NEVER put a hand on my child. I need some advise, A.S.A.P.

  • Time out. Stand in the cornner for a few min so he knows that he can not run around all over the place.

  • You need to sit down with the people you are living with and talk to them about this. Se if you all can come up with a way to deal with him(your son).

  • Oh, the other people who will be living with you would not appreciate a child running around and being noisy in the house. You have to constantly talk to him and stop him when he starts doing those. Give him a time out. No spanking or yelling is necessary.
