Best games for swimming pool?

Now that it is getting hot out there, any suggestions for fun pool games for kids (other than Marco Polo)?

  • Already mentioned but we always used to throw money in the pool. We also love playing water volley ball. My kids liked playing on the steps with toys. Swim races from one end to another. In a round pool we'd create a whirlpool.

  • Thanks for the ideas. I know I can do a google search, but I wanted to know what games kids enjoyed most.

We used to play volleyball and it was really fun.

  • I loved playing volleyball and marco-polo, too.
We used to do pennies in the pool, but one got forgotten and stained the liner of the pool. I love the weighted rocket shaped toys they have now that sink to the bottom, but stand upright so the child can grab it easier.
Also, there are rings that you can toss waterproof small balls into like at a carnival.
You can get a basketball hoop that suction cups to the side of the pool and play a game of water basketball.
Swim races are always fun if the pool is long enough. Also, seeing who can do handstands was fun.
Other than that, we just laughed, swam, lay on the water seats, and had fun.
I wish we had a pool now for our kids, like we had one when I was a kid. :)
