How often and how much should a 5 month old eat?

I feel like my 5 mo old is eating allllll the time. He is eating 6 oz of formula about every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs and is also eating 1/4 cup veggies at lunch and 1/4-1/2 c cereal at night. Does this sound normal? From my experience working at daycares and as a nanny he should be going 3-4 hrs between feedings.

  • not sure about total solids, but he should still be getting a total of 24-32 ounces of formula daily. My 5 month old is still eating every 3 hours or so, sometimes 4, but she's breastfed. She also gets less solids than your son.
