I'm looking for a good, old fashioned sheet cake recipe.

I remember the older ladies in my church as a kid making sheet cakes for bake sales and it's my favorite. I haven't been able to find a recipe that tastes like what they made. It is a mild chocolate with a slight hint of what tastes like cinnamon and has an icing that doesn't taste like any other icing.

Anyone have a recipe for it?

Sift together 1st 4 ingred. Place in saucepan water, butter, oil & cocoa. Bring to boil and pour over dry ingred. Mix together buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Add to choc. batter. Pour into greased floured 9x13 pan. Bake 20 min. @400. Start icing 5 min. before cake is done & ice while hot. Icing: 1 stick butter, 4 t. cocoa, 6 . milk, 1 1 lb. box powdered sugar, 1 t. vanilla, 1 c. chopped pecans. Put 1st 3 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil, being careful not to scorch. Remove from heat. Add sugar vanilla and pecans. Spread on hot cake.
