has anybody worked with a credit repair company

Were trying to get a home loan but our credit is about 79 points to low. Our morgage guy says he can put in touch with a credit repair company that will work with the negative information on our credit report and increase our credit score over the next 5 months, possibly less. It would just require paying about 50 to 100 dollars each month. Has anybody done this? how much did it cost you? Did it work as planned?

  • Do not do this. What you could do instead is contact the Credit Bureau in your area. They are the only ones that legally help repair your credit. The others can promise, but in the end, they will only take your money!

  • Agreed, 'credit repair' companies are just a big scam. They can't do anything that you cant do yourself by examining your credit report from all 3 Bereaus and making phone calls to work out old debts.
