this morning my dd's cheecks are all red and hot to the touch....what is this?

cause for concern? what is it? she's 3 months old and nurses.....this has never happened before.

  • Does she have a temp? She could just be warm from sleeping. My kids have all gotten that way at different times and it would fade after an hour or so. Check or temp. At this point (unless she has a HIGH fever) I wouldn't be concerned. Just watch for other signs that she may be sick. Little bodies have a harder time regulating temperatures and that may be all it is.

  • Maybe "fifth disease" AKA "slapped cheek". It makes childrens cheeks look like they have been slapped. Its a type of rash i believe.

  • If it is fifth's disease, don't worry at all! Usually the worst part of it comes before the rash shows up. It will go away soon.
