How long is breast milk good for after being refrigerated?

I have read all the storage guidlines and it list everything, but how long can use milk at room temp after being refrigerated. So if I pump and putt in the frig and then need to run errands, can I pull a bottle out and take with me and still use it two hours later or do I need to pump fresh to take with me so it has never been chilled??

  • Two hours at room temp is two hours at room temp. Refrig doesn't degrade it. Get an ice pack for your diaper bag.

  • Ok thanks! I do have an insulated bottle cooler that I have not used yet. I just do not want to waste a drop of breast milk, by letting it go bad!

  • use an ice pack in the bottle cooler, that will give you a couple more hours.
