My 10 year old daughter is loosing weight

My daughter who is 10 is loosing weight. I have no worries about her being anorexic or anything she eats well, just wondering if it is normal for pre teens to go through a stage where they loose weight?

  • Normally the can lose the baby fat during adolescence, so yeah

  • She is actually losing weight? Not just sprouting up and slimming out? Depending on her body type, I would discuss it with a doctor.

  • Well she is getting taller but she was wearing sz 12 and they are getting loose on her. She has lost a few pounds not significant amounts

  • I did. I was never pudgy, but I stretched, and lost about every ounce of fat I had until I years later when I had children. I don't see the ebb and flow of weight through adolescence to be odd in any way.

  • My sister does that a lot. She gets taller and her pants get looser. After a while, she gains a few pounds and they fit again. It's normal. She's 9 1/2 by the way.

  • Yes. She's probably also gaining height.
