Black Diharrhea(SP)

35 weeks pregnant and I just had black stools, what is this and has anyone else had this??

  • I heard black diarrhea is cause by eating certain foods or blood passing through the stomach

  • Pepto Bismol will cause this, but other than that, the most common cause of black stools is blood in the upper GI tract. Personally, I'd call my doctor and ask if I should come in.

  • possible GI bleed. If it looked like coffee grounds,thats a stomach bleed. I second Bradenismyson,certain foods can darken your stool too.

  • Hahaha...It is probably the Oreos. If you are still having this issue in a day or so though, I would call the doctor.

  • It maybe the freaking oreos!!! I ate them yesterday too...I will wait and see tomorrow after I go to see if it looks the same...hopefully not!! Thanks!! I dont know if it could be a GI bleed..or even Iron....Thanks Guys!!
