Help with paint colors?

We're redoing our daughter's bedroom. We've decided to do pink, black, and zebra print. The zebra print will only be used as an accent. The pink is like a dark pink. She has white furniture... Any ideas on what color to paint the walls? We're putting in a light tan/cream color carpet if that matters. And the trim and molding will be white.

  • I would do a beige for the walls. Pink with zebra print accents for the curtains and bedding, black accessories and a zebra print blanket.

  • I would go with a very pale pink on the walls--or something a couple of shades lighter than the dark pink accents. You can pick up FREE paint swatches at any paint store like Home Depot/Lowes. Find the pink you have in your accessories, and then select a harmonizing lighter shade.

The pale pink will work fine with the carpet and the moulding/trim. You could even add a zebra pattern area rug to break up the carpet a little. I would probably buy large wooden letters (any craft store) to spell your child's name, spray paint them black, and glue zebra print ribbon to them to hang them--the contrast against the pink walls would be cute! :o)
