What's the longest time one can leave a son/daughter with a hired babysitter ?

  • It depends on how old the child is. I've found that it's easier for me to leave my kids for longer periods of time as they get older, but I've never gone more than 5 days without seeing them - the oldest is 12.

  • wow "not more than 5 days" thats LONG to child is 5 i am a SAHM before she started Kindergarden I might have left her 10 times no longer than 2 hours at a time yeah i stay with my child 24/7 lol her first day of school was the longest she has ever been without me

  • Paid babysitter? Legally, I have no idea. But I've let mine spend up to a week with grandparents. First time she was 6 1/2 months old. Then again at 14 months. There may be laws about giving an employee breaks and stuff or what constitutes abandonment.

  • the longest i have ever left DS with a hired babysitter was during the day when i am at work. if he stays the night somewhere, then he stays with either my parents or my in laws.
