Hold her and rock her to sleep, nurse her to sleep.... don't put her down until she is in deep sleep (limp limbs, slow steady breathing, heavy head). If you are putting her in a crib , find a smaller sleeping place like a bassinet or co-sleeper, and for during the day a swing, or infant chair. Cribs are vast, and are kind of scary and cold. Make her feel safe.
I normally would recommend simply bedsharing but unless you breastfeed and get some rest first, a cosleeper or sidecarred crib is an alternative. http://www.freewebs.com/sidecarcrib/
