Trouble sleeping at 3 months

My son was sleeping so well (waking up once a night or not at all) for the last month or so. Now he's back to waking up every 3 hours at night! Help!

  • Most babies hit a huge growth spurt at 3 months, so they eat more. I was lucky, my kids just slept longer at night and chowed down during the day lol. Oh and your baby could be starting to teeth. My son cut his first tooth at 3.5 months

  • Every 3 hours is normal at that age. He's hungry!

  • Growth spurt. He's hungry.

Don't expect a consistent sleep pattern for at least a year, and it won't really settle until age 3 or 4.
Expect other spurts at 6, 9, 12 months and about every 3 months or so even after that. Don't forget major milestones and teething.

  • He's not eating more, so it's not a hunger issue. I was thinking he may be teething. He had been sleeping pretty consistently until this week, thus my confusion.

  • It is really common for babies to change their schedule, usually just when you think you have them figured out lol! It could be teething, growth spurt, or something unknown. You just gotta go with the flow!

  • Normal. Don't get used to a sleeping WILL change, frequently, all through year one.
